Due to a fire at Virginia Intermont College and difficulties getting buses into those areas, we are cancelling school for Virginia Primary School and Virginia Intermediate School on Friday December 20th, 2024. Virginia High and Virginia Middle will be on a 2 hour delay. Today will still be an early dismissal day. We are very sorry for the late notice and the inconvenience it is causing. Thank you.
After-School Activities on Wednesday December 11th, 2024 for Virginia Primary, Virginia Intermediate and Virginia Middle School have been cancelled due to weather conditions.
VHS activities will proceed as scheduled unless announced otherwise.
BVPS will be on a 2 hour delay Friday, December 6th 2024 due to low temperatures and wind chill.
Attention parents with children in an after-school program. There is currently a city-wide power outage that is affecting our schools. All children are safe and have what they need. We will proceed with the program per the regular schedule. Thank you.

If you would like for your child to receive their flu vaccine at school, a consent form must be filled out, signed by a parent or guardian, and returned to school.
Early Dismissal Times for BVPS have changed for 2024-2025. Our first early dismissal will be Friday, Sept. 13th. Please make sure you are planning for the changes in our release times. Elementary: 12:00 pm, VMS: 1:00 pm; VHS: 1:10 pm

The Bearcat Athletic Department will host a required Student-Athlete Parent Meeting-on Thursday, August 15th at 6:30pm in the VHS Auditorium. This meeting will have valuable information for all athletes and their parents regardless of their participation season. Fall sports will break out for their respective team meetings after the department meeting.
On Friday, August 16, 2024 you are cordially invited to our Fall Meet The Bearcats and V-T Football Scrimmage. Gates Open 5pm with team intros at beginning at 5:45pm at Gene Malcolm Stadium. The scrimmage is slated to start at 7:30pm. Donations will be accepted at the gates to benefit both teams. Concessions and Bearcat Merchandise will be sold and other activities will be available. Come out to support all of our fall-student athletes.

Bristol VA City Schools will be hosting an Immunization Clinic at Virginia Middle School on Monday, August 12th from 3:00 - 5:30pm.
• Incoming 7th graders are required to have a TDAP and Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine.
• Incoming 12th graders are required to have a Meningococcal Conjugate Vaccine.
This Vaccine Clinic is being offered in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health. Appointments are encouraged by calling the Bristol City Health Department at 276-642-7335.
Walk-ins are also welcome.

Congratulations to Virginia High School's Bhraedon Meredith! Bhraedon has been selected to play in the annual Virginia Baseball Coaches Association Senior All Star Game on June 19th at The Diamond in Richmond, VA. This game will bring together some of the best High School Seniors in Virginia to celebrate player and coaching talent in the Commonwealth. Additionally, the VBCA will host its first ever Home Run Derby. We are proud of Bhraedon's accomplishments and we are cheering for you! Go, Bearcats!
