About Us

Virginia Middle School boasts a rich history. The original three-story structure, built in 1914, served as Virginia High School for nearly four decades. In 1953, with the construction of a new high school, the building transitioned into Virginia Junior High School for seventh and eighth graders. Following a school board review in 1990, the name was changed to Virginia Middle School.

The school underwent a major renovation in 1995, allowing it to fully accommodate grades six through eight by 1996. Standing as a testament to its historical significance, Virginia Middle School is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Historic Landmarks registry.
