The Virginia High School Band is a 6-time Virginia Honor band, and the Virginia High School music department is a 6-time Blue Ribbon School. Bristol Virginia Public Schools has been listed consecutively since 2011 as one of the country’s Best Communities for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation.

The band program consists of The Pride of the State Line, Virginia High School Marching Band, Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble, other small instrumental ensembles, and Winter Guard.
