The VHS Concert Band typically gives three concerts per school year: a winter/holiday concert in early December, a Pre-Assessment concert in late April or early March, and a spring concert in late April/early May. These students typically play Grade 4 and Grade 5 music and have consistently received Superior and Excellent ratings at the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association’s Concert Assessment.
